The Story
Palazzo Goldoni Collezione Condotti was born from the skilful renovation of the historic convent of the Spanish Castilian Trinitarians known as "Calzati", built in the first decades of the 18th century, adjacent to the Church of the Santissima Trinità degli Spagnoli, overlooking one of the most famous streets in the world: the ancient via Trinitatis, today via Condotti.
A marble epigraph on the facade of the palace indicates that the famous Venetian playwright, writer and librettist Carlo Goldoni lived in the palace for a year. Palazzo Goldoni Condotti Collection is dedicated to him. The building is also registered in the National Register of Historic Buildings and is protected by the Special Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Rome, executive body of the Ministry of Culture.
The timeless elegance of Palazzo Goldoni has returned to shine thanks to a project whose aim was to harmonize architectural elements of the past with the most modern principles of sustainable design, making it the perfect destination for the most demanding international customers.
The entire general project, both renovation and interio r design , was aimed at preserving the historical significance of the building and enhancing its architectural characteristics. A particular importance was given to the recovery of the original materials, to the decorated coffered ceilings and wooden beams, dating back to the 18th century. The main core of the project was to evoke the atmospheres linked to the life of that precious part of the city of Rome.
Where possible, the original finishes, a heritage of the past, have been restored and harmonized with new elements of contemporary furniture, design, lighting and essential installations to transform the property into an iconic residence with modern comfort.
